Walking
The
Clock House is the perfect base for your walking holiday along the Pembrokeshire
Coastal Path. With many short walks in an around the villages of Marloes,
Dale and St Brides you can spend day after day walking and taking in the
breath-taking scenery.
Birdwatching & Nature
With the embarkation point
to Skomer Island only five minutes drive away, you can take advantage of
the fantastic birdwatching opportunities and take in the variety of wild
flowers on this acclaimed nature reserve, home to one of the largest breeding
colonies of puffins and shearwaters in the UK. During the late summer months
seal pups can be seen basking on the many secluded coves around the island.
Beaches
MARLOES SANDS is a beautiful,
isolated stretch of sand with rocky outcrops along its length. It is rarely
busy and out of season you are likely to have it to yourself! With a National
Trust Car Park at the top of the beach path, you are only a short walk away
from this unspoilt beach. If you are on a walking holiday, it will take
you approximately half an hour to get from The Clock House to Marloes Sands.
MARTINS HAVEN is a small beach which has the embarkation point for boat
trips to Skomer and Skokholm Islands where bird life abounds and in the
late summer months, the seal pups can be seen from the cliffs above on the
many secluded coves that abound in this area of the coastline. DALE offers
a sheltered bay and is perfect for those taking their first steps into the
world of windsurfing or sailing. Dale has a shingle beach with some sand
at low tide and an attractive seafront with many watersports available throughout
the year. WEST DALE is a sand and shingle bay surrounded by old red sandstone
cliffs. With its strong rip tides and powerful waves this is an attractive
beach for the more experienced surfer. ST BRIDES HAVEN is a small cove with
sand exposed at low tide and pebbles further up the beach. It faces North
West and so is protected from the South Westerly winds making it an excellent
spot for bathing. There are many rock pools to explore and the cover provides
good views across St. Brides Bay. With a beautiful little Church nestled
above the bay, this is a must for visitors at any time of the year.
LITTLE
HAVEN is a picturesque old fishing village with steep streets that descend
to a small beach. At low tide there is a pleasant walk along the beach to
Broad Haven with numerous caves and rock pools to explore. BROAD HAVEN offers
a large expanse of sand which is popular with families and bathers. Boasting
three slipways for easy access, it is great for windsurfers, surfers and
other watersport activities. At low tide you can walk along the beach to
the neighbouring village of Little Haven.
Watersports
Sailing,
sea fishing, windsurfing and diving are all available nearby. Whether you
are trying these sports for the first time or have years of experience,
there is something for everyone. West Wales Diving Centre offers a fully
comprehensive dive service catering to individual divers or large groups.
West Wales Wind Surf and Sailing - located in Dale, Pembrokeshire, offer
watersports tuition, and the hire and sales of watersports equipment. It
is a centre of excellence for RYA, BSA & BCU courses.
Golf
With excellent Golf Clubs at nearby Milford Haven, Haverfordwest and Tenby, the golfing enthusiast can always find the perfect course to play without travelling too far from The Clock House.

the flat land around the tidal reaches of the Carew river. The castle stands

point of the still navigable river.
